CARIA® and Attribution

IMD Optimad designed and has operated CARIA®, the gold standard data transfer system for the UK and Ireland, since 2003.

CARIA® connects media agencies and creative agencies with TV sales houses securely and confidentially online, enabling the efficient confirmation of campaign booking details and accurate linking of copy instructions to spot schedules. The service processes around £3 billion annually and is endorsed by the IPA in the UK and IAPI in Ireland.

A number of important extensions to the CARIA® service are underway. The first of these, the on demand delivery of campaign spot lists from all major UK and Ireland stations to TV buyers, is already rolling out to media agencies.

IMD Optimad also manages (under licence from Clearcast UK) the Attribution service for TV, which validates associated data for all BARB reported commercials transmitted on UK television. Attribution data is used extensively by media monitoring, data processing and research companies in the business-critical reporting and analysis of spot advertising campaigns.

We also provide custom applications and full service support to facilitate direct data integration (with the avoidance of re-keying) between CARIA® and TV airtime sales systems and also agency budget and planning systems.
